Day 01

Arusha – Momella Gate – Miriakamba Hut

Distance: 10km, Hiking Time: 4-6 hours, Elevation: 1,387m to 2,514m

Start your journey at Momella Gate in Arusha National Park. Walk through lush forests, spotting wildlife like giraffes, zebras, and buffalo. Reach Miriakamba Hut for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 02

Miriakamba Hut – Saddle Hut

Distance: 8km, Hiking Time: 3-5 hours, Elevation: 2,514m to 3,570m

Trek through montane forests and grasslands, enjoying views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Optional short hike to Little Meru (3820m/12,533ft) for acclimatization. Rest and prepare at Saddle Hut.

Day 03

Saddle Hut – Summit – Miriakamba Hut

Distance: 18km, Elevation: 3,570m to 4,562m and back to 2,514m, Hiking Time; 10-14 hours

Begin the summit trek at midnight, following a challenging rocky trail. Reach Socialist Peak in time for a spectacular sunrise with views of Kilimanjaro and the Ash Cone. Descend back to Saddle Hut for a short rest and then continue to Miriakamba Hut for the night.

Day 04

Miriakamba Hut – Momella Gate – Arusha

Distance: 10km, Hiking Time: 3-5 hours, Elevation: 2,514m to 1,387m

Descend through the scenic forest, spotting more wildlife. Return to Momella Gate, where your adventure ends. Transfer back to Arusha or Moshi.
